Next SBE Chapter 2 meeting

Larry Bloomfield will be presenting the NAB 2010 Road Show at the WVIA studios at 12 noon. The presentation runs about three hours. There will be door prizes awarded at the end of the session. You must be present to win the local door prizes at the end of a session. A business card is requred for admission, but if you left yours at the office, a blank card will be supplied that you can fill out. So if you were not able to attend NAB this year, here is your chance to see a sample of the new equipment that was presented this year.

This is to advise you that Nexstar Broadcasting is looking for candidates for an opening in its Engineering Department as follows:

JOB TITLE: Assistant Chief Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for the maintenance and support of studio and digital VHF transmitter facilities. The successful candidate should have a well rounded working knowledge in all aspects of a News intensive broadcast facility.

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS: Valid driver's license. FCC and SBE certification desirable.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: BS or equivalent experience.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS NECESSARY: 7 or more years broadcast experience is preferred. Knowledge of networking strongly desired. On call as shared by other engineering staff.

SALARY: To be negotiated, vehicle included.

START DATE: Late February 2010

WideOrbit Acquires Google Radio Automation

On August 5, 2009, WideOrbit Inc, a provider of sales traffic and billing software announced the acquisition of Google's Radio Automation Business.

Support for SS32 and Maestro automation systems is now being handled by WideOrbit.

In the confusion of the move, the download section got lost. The files are available here for SS32 versions 5 and 6 as well as Maestro.

Chapter 2 Mailing List

SBE Chapter two has an announce only mailing list, which is used to notify members and guests of upcoming chapter two meetings. It is a low volume list, you will get notices of upcoming meetings a week or so in advance and the day before the meeting.
